Healthy Eating

We have a two-week rolling menu prepared by our amazing in house chef Jo. Jo has over 30 years of experience and loves to create fun and innovative ways to make healthy eating enjoyable for all!

A typical day will include breakfast, morning and afternoon snack, lunch and tea. We are very fortunate to consult with a food nutritionist to ensure our menus offer the highest quality of food.

Meal and Snack Routines

Our meal and snack routines are as follows:

Breakfast: A selection of cereals

Morning & Afternoon Snack: A selection of fresh fruits and salad vegetables – savoury crackers, breadsticks, pitta, bagel and oatcakes – cream cheese, humous, tzatziki and dairy free spread – milk or water. (dietary alternatives available)

Lunch: A selection of hot meals freshly prepared (dietary alternatives available)

Tea: Freshly prepared hot and cold teas (dietary alternatives available)

Allergies

We take dietary requirements very seriously at Little Treacles Nursery. Our traffic light system ensures that children do not eat anything they shouldn’t:

Green place cards– I can eat everything

Yellow place cards– Mild allergy or preference such as vegetarian or halal

Red place cards– Severe allergy, cannot eat certain foods.

Dietary requirements are filled out by a member of staff from each room and given to Jo our chef daily.
